Hi, I’m Dirk. I hated every English class I ever found myself in, so it was a surprise to discover I like writing. My goals here are modest, I try write one thing a week that I don’t think sucks. My standards are shockingly low, but I’m undisciplined and lazy, so it’s sometimes a struggle to do that. The Reader’s Favorites are your best bet.

Things I Write About

My wife and I are trying to have a baby. Yes, the vasectomy was a mistake. Who knew? We tried technology (In Vitro Fertilization) to get pregnant, three and a half times, no luck. Fuck. Right? Right. Our next move is in limbo.

I got fired. That wasn’t a bad thing. I did some soul searching. Now we are opening a restaurant and designing a house.

I like music, movies, and food. I don’t have anything insightful to say on these topics, but they say enthusiasm conquers all.

I write down conversations I have with my wife. People seem to like those. My wife gets the credit for them being funny.

There’s plenty that doesn’t fit into any of those categories. I’m not very focused either. Perhaps I should have mentioned that at the start.
