I just have my daughter walk on my back with her perfect feet, toes digging in nicely. Cheap, quick, and not creepy at all. This one made me laugh out loud

Oh, if only that were true. I do think that a celebrity can use their fame for good sometimes. Bring an issue into the media to get recognized, to raise money. Or they themselves give money to research. All good things. Jenny M. however took the wrong approach and did many famillies with autism a huge diservice.

Well said. It's horribly sad but true that people want to jump on some sort of bandwagon to fight logic, reason and science. It's been happening I suspect forever, when it turns horribly wrong we get entire societies that believe in nonsense. I remember when John was sick with his cancer, it took most of my strength to not want to throttle the do-gooders that wanted me to send John to some strange clinic in Mexico instead of trust the BC Cancer Agency (who has some of the highest cancer survival rates in the world). I still shake my head when I think about the advice I was given to bring him to Italy because some guy there was curing cancer by injecting the tumours with baking soda, or how you can cure cancer by eating 5 pounds of boiled asparagus daily.

Well done Son! I think when a famous person speaks, people forget that they are just giving their opinion like any other person. I'm proud of Kristeen and Tim for doing their own research and taking in all the information out there and coming to reasonable conclusions, which allows their son to get all the help available and hopefully all those people doing the research will find some answers to help him and others like him.

Awesome. You really nailed it. Actually, I don't get annoyed when people ask me about vaccinations or quote Jenny McCarthy. I find it's a good reason to educate people. People are well-meaning, for the most part, and I derive great pleasure from saying things like, "actually, did you know that there has never been a single study linking autism and vaccinations? I had all of my children vaccinated and I would do it again. Imagine if twenty years from now there was a cancer vaccine and people were refusing to give it to their children. Wouldn't that seem crazy to you?". It's fun.

I agree, should just stop buying the water. The only thing is, it cost a lot of money to run a business like that and they make a lot of money I'm sure, so why is it that when our local newspaper comes out with our water report the number of chemicals are on the sheet but never a guage or number to go by. We pay for the water on tap but I had a friend test it and that of a gallon store bought, the number of chemicals in the tap and level will scare you. That of the store bought is very minimal. Why doesnt the water companies have as good of a standard or quality as store bought and how do they get away with it. Bet you don't fill a glass of our water and look through it and think yummyyyy. Instead, how long before I get cancer or gall stones or something from this. It's sad. So what do you do about recycling if there isn't an option even for something as simple as a plastic bottle.

Google has designed and built an automated car. It is licensed to operate in Nevada.

They've also proposed a different model for personnel transportation, in which you don't own a car. Why would you want to own a car? You just want to go from A to B. You don't own an elevator. You just want to go from the Lobby to the 8th floor. You press a button and the elevator comes. If cars drive themselves, why would you own a car?

A Scientist at the University of Texas has designed a model for automated intersection control. Vehicles communicate with a scheduling system that plans their travel through an intersection. This video shows a simulation of the software they are devloping that is impressive.

I personally think there is a way to tackle the problem without the centralized control. With each car working in concert with the cars around them to achieve the greatest efficiency for the group. The benefit being that there is no centralized system to go down. Calculations and decisions are spread across a network of cars. The system is immune to the failure of one element.

I told you, I'm obsessed with this.

I saw this news programs years ago about the automated traffic. It had a demonstration of about 6 cars that were driving by themselves. It was on some freeway in L.A and there were magnets in the road that somehow assisted. It talked about how it would completely eliminate traffic jams and the fuel efficiency would be way better because it's a steady speed with no stupid humans to screw it up. I thought it was very cool and then I never heard another thing about it.
