I can't believe they still use that line to try to get in past your doorway. Now I have limo tint on my front windows of my house. If they come knocking, I can look out and see them, but they can't see me. I don't answer the door for them as I stand there and have a silent chuckle. A couple of them started chatting up my sister while she was raking leaves. They were very friendly and called her by her first name. Being polite, my sister thinks she knows them and just can't recall how, so continues to listen to them. After she gets rid of them she realized how they knew her name... it's her vanity car licence plate number and the car was sitting in the driveway. Vanity, thy name is "Cassie"... I am familiar with their current "pitch." They are inviting ones to the function you mentioned, and for the most part, attempt to do no more. Like everyone else, they like to 'mix it up' a bit. I assumed Dirk had his hands full, as he was in the yard working. When I got to the door, these two ladies are standing on the porch. Looking around, I saw Dirk hiding off to the one side, great, now I have to deal with them. BUT to my surprise their opening line was: “Are you concerned about the environment and how to preserve it? “ “Yes”, I reply. “Well then you should focus on this part of the bible where…….” I don’t remember the rest as I could not believe I was sucked in on their opening line.
